How should you rake in a cashgame when action finishes without a showdown. Was confusing the players in a dealer homegame last night

Pot 40$ with 2 players

After the flop Player A bets 25$ and player B raises to 60$. Player A folds.

Is the 10% taken of only the 40$?

Or also of 25$ *2?

I will defer to the cash game experts on this board, but I'm pretty sure that the rake is taken on any called amounts.  In this case, the rake would be taken on the $40, plus the bet of $25 and the call (portion):  i.e. on $90.

huyshuy,

K-Lo is correct. My question would be why was the $4 rake not taken from the $40 pot prior to the next betting round? When Player B raised to $60 ($35 more), the raiser's $25 becomes part of the pot along with the $25 bet from Player A. Pot $40+25+25=$90.

My next question is: what is the maximum rake for your game? I'm sure it's not a flat 10% because that's unbelievably high. My guess would be no more than a $6 max rake-off.
