I'll just repeat what I said earlier:

I defy you to show me a rule that discusses "equity".

In the final scenario the equities and expected outcome can vary wildly.

But, that fact and the overall odds of those variances occurring is known when the decision is made and should be factored in to that decision.

In the end, it's your club and your rules. But, I disagree with the rationale.  If the players want to bet whether the turn will be a black card, I'm not going to prevent them from making the bet pre-flop only because the flop would certainly affect the odds.

The problem is that allowing the main pot to be ran twice ignores the fact that this pot was not heads up and the equities are very different.

However, the odds of it becoming heads-up is known and should be considered (not ignored).

I'll just repeat what I said earlier:

That proves nothing. We are dealing with a level of detail not usually seen in any rule set. For instance none of the TDA rules have an impact on the equity of a hand. If there was a set of good rules regarding running it once they would almost certainly either mention equity of implicitly reference it.

I think now that most places sidestep this issue by insisting that all participants in the pot agree to run it twice.
