The iOS (iPhone and iPad) app, version 2.2, was released on the Apple App Store on March 29, 2020.  So far, there have been about 500 who have upgraded around the world.  Please note:

  • App version 2.2 runs on iOS 11 thru iOS 13
  • App version 2.1 runs on iOS 10+ but crashed on iOS 13 (thanks Apple :().
  • The next version will only support iOS 13+.
  • If you upgrade to 2.2 and still see 2017 rules, please uninstall and reinstall (or change your app settings).

Please let me know if you have any issues with the new app.

Also, the various TDA Rules translations are available as JSON files.  This provides other applications (android, etc.) an ability to utilize this data.  If you are a developer and are interested in the JSON data please send me a "personal message" via the forum.

I have downloaded this app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/tda-rules/id1227806807) to my iPhone 11 running iOS 13.4.1. The app crashes upon launch.

Hello MisterD,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having troubles with the app.  When I look at Apple iTunes App Analytics, I do see a two crashes reported on June 2nd.  However, there doesn't seem to be any crash logs to be downloaded that would help me determine the problem.  When the app crashes, does your iPhone ask if you'd like to upload a crash log?

You may need to alter your iPhone settings to allow the crash logs to be shared with me.  Please go into:
Settings -> Privacy -> Analytics & Improvements then enable:
Share iPhone Analytics and:
Share with App Developers

Also, can you tell me if there is anything unique about your iPhone ... for example, what language settings do you use?  Is this the first time you have installed the app or did you perform an upgrade from the previous release?

I just performed a clean new install on an iPhone 11 running iOS 13.4.1 with the language setting of US English and did not have any problem.

Thanks for reporting the problem and for your assistance in fixing it.

Apparently, some configurations are experiencing a crash during upgrade from an older version.  If this happens, please uninstall the old version first and then install the new version.
