Three Industry Leaders To Join Poker TDA Board

The Poker Tournament Directors Association (TDA) proudly announces expansion of its Board of Directors. Jack Effel, Neil Johnson, and Tab Duchateau will join the Board and help guide TDA Summit VI at the Venetian in Las Vegas, June 26 and 27, 2013.

•   Jack Effel is Vice President of International Poker Operations for Caesars Interactive Entertainment and World Series of Poker Tournament Director. http://www.pokertda.com/about-the-poker-tda/meet-the-board/jack-effel/

•   Neil Johnson is Head of Live Poker Operations for PokerStars Europe. http://www.pokertda.com/about-the-poker-tda/meet-the-board/neil-johnson/

•   Tab Duchateau is Tournament Director of the Borgata Hotel & Casino. http://www.pokertda.com/about-the-poker-tda/meet-the-board/tab-duchateau/

"The TDA has grown from 24 tournament directors at our first Summit in 2001 to more than 2000 members in 41 countries today. Over this time, the entire membership has come to greatly respect Jack Effel, Neil Johnson, and Tab Duchateau for their wisdom and hard work in support of the TDA mission. They literally bring a world of experience to the Board and will help lead the Association for years to come," said founding TDA Board Member Matt Savage.

The Poker Tournament Directors Association is a voluntary poker industry association founded in 2001. The Association is dedicated to improvement and standardization of tournament rules globally. Membership is free and open to all personnel involved in the poker tournament industry.

The TDA Summit is the bi-annual meeting of the Association where rules are discussed and approved by democratic super-majority vote. There is no cost for TDA members to attend Summit VI thanks to generous support from the Venetian Las Vegas, the world's largest 5-Diamond resort, Genesis Gaming, (www.GenesisGaming.com) the leader in poker room & pit management systems, and the Global Poker Index, (www.GlobalPokerIndex.com) the poker ranking authority. Mike,

I look forward to communicating with the new members of the board. Great additions!

When I went back and looked at this post...I received this notice: Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days.
Unless you're sure you want to reply, please consider starting a new topic.
I see no need to start another topic but, I would like to comment on the complete lack of participation on this Forum, by our board of directors.

Unless I've missed something, the only active participant over the last five months, is Mike Bishop. Are Matt, Jan, Linda, Dave, Tab, Neil, and Jack still members? I'd also like to ask them how the new rules they helped introduce are working for their tournaments? Are there any of those new rules they'd like to reconsider? If so, can we expect any changes when Version 2.0 is released?

Just thinking out loud, that's all.  ???

Participation on this forum is not a requirement of being on the TDA Board.

You can always direct questions and recommendations to the Board via the specified contact links on the TDA website:

Mike,

I have gone to the site you mentioned and you responded. Look, I don't care, one way or the other. My questions are simple and only require a straight answer. If they don't feel a need to respond...I guess that's okay. I guess that's their "right," or "privilege"(might be more fitting). I also have a right to get a simple reply without feeling like I'm out of line!

The message I'm getting is: what we say on this Forum means nothing...only our attendance at the Summit merits recognition.

I don't need to hear from those of you that insist on making excuses  for our non-participants...Let's see if we can make a positive  difference for the betterment of poker.
Let's face it...we still have issues with some of our rules, don't you think?

The TDA gets numerous questions daily so they are handled by board members randomly.....If you want to direct a message to a particular person, then put that in the message.

Well that's certainly not the case. At a minimum, here are the forum topics that found their way into the 2011 Summit:

At a minimum, here are the forum-riased topics finding their way into the 2013 Summit:

Note that most of the above threads in turn link to other threads on the forum.

There is an accumulating list of possible topics for 2015 here:
http://www.pokertda.com/forum/index.php?board=36.0

Be sure to have your recommendations posted there well before the 2015 Summit, also forward same to the Board via the contact list above...  That's the process for getting your concerns heard, discussed, and voted on.
